Spring has sprung?!

I'm sitting on my back porch !!!! in the sun !!!! and soaking up the spring's first soft rays of sun - warming my body and staving off the chill of winter. The old dead leaves of last year's memories are swirling around the wind tunnel of my back yard and are dancing a tribute to the spring breezes. All around me, i feel the spring energy - the birds are already switching into spring mode - gathering bits and pieces of string and frequently the little bird house in my back yard and the crocuses are pushing their delicate little heads up through the slowly warming soil, soon to be followed by the tulips and daffodils, eager to put on a good show! (on a side note, i did yell at my garden plants the other day - when i discovered their premature appearance and did remind them that it was only the 17th of March - and that was far too early for little spring flowers to be proclaiming the surety of spring's arrival - i fear they may be disappointed yet by the coming of more snow, but that's a lesson they'll have to learn on their own - sink or swim i guess?!) And my mind begins wakening, thinking about gardening, getting my boots on, thinking about turning the soil over, what to put in the garden this year - not such a crazy hodge podge as last year? but we'll see - variety is the spice of life... And i wonder what survived the winter and will live to raise their little planty heads to the sun and grow again. Spring is always that time of renewal as well - trying to shed the past which clings to us and struggling to live lives stretching towards the Son, the giver of true life - not a life that fades away. If only we reach out and accept that gift and live in the joy of being a seedling in the garden of the Lord!
Happy Early Spring!
