This, that and oh yeah...

Talking about this, that and oh yeah, i bought a house and how about that rain and why do I have bronchitis in the middle of July and I can't wait to go to Curacao and i'm flipping tired right now and i realized how much i do enjoy doing puzzles and getting amazing deals like the entire game of Carcassonne for $1.00 and how i am sad that life is just flying by but am also super super grateful for friends who are full of encouragement and buoyancy for a sad creature who weeps at the drop of a hat because her emotional pot is full to overflowing and cannot possibly handle another drop of controversy and decision making today and i'm sure tomorrow will look better. Love you all.

Getting a little teed off...

Once upon a time, in the fair month of June...
A brave little foursome ventured out
To drag round some clubs, sing a little tune
and whack some grass and weeds about.
The holes on the green were difficult to locate
The intrepid foursome were soon to find
Afterward, they could to their friends relate
How they nearly went out of their mind!
The father and daughter looked equally dazed
As they wandered the course in the sun
Each hole that they passed they were truly amazed
That they ne'er found a hole in one.
There was 'mongst the group, an eager young vrouw
Whose skill, aim and finesse whilst wielding a iron
Were destined to awe the crowds and wow
When they saw the balls flying!
Whilst the players were playing and doing their trying
On a fine summer's day, in the sky bove their heads
Came old warplanes in formations flying
Destined to distract and amaze our friends.
The young lad named Thomas looked like a pro
He launched all the orbs towards the sky
His swing was ne'er crooked nor slow
"Fore" was oft his plaintive cry.
And then there was the father, an impressive dear man
Whose skill with the clubs was sure to impress
He saved his dear foursome as only he can
And made their scores not such an ugly mess!
The foursome went on to conquer and play
They finished with aplomb and great pride
They'd won the most honest score of the day
Oh how they had strained, yelled and tried!
The Links were left there for more to enjoy
They packed up their clubs and their tees
They said to themselves "Oh boy and oh boy,
Sign us up for next year's game please!"

what am i doing right now?

Good afternoon all...
Currently i'm listening to my third load of laundry spinning its merry way around the dryer and am sitting at my kitchen table, my lovely kitchen table which my wonderful family and friends found for me for $50 at a garage sale and am sorta trying to figure out what to do with my afternoon. I have a day off today and that is just wonderful. This morning i was able to sleep in (woke up at 8 and decided that was too early so i got up at 9!! Wow, did that ever feel nice!) and had a lovely shower and a yummy breakfast of tea biscuits and jam (though i did figure out that the butter was "off" unfortunately) I have only killed one earwig today thus far and that is also an exciting thing seeing as my previous post may have given you some indication as to my hatred level for the creepy crawlies! I sat by the poolside of our neighbours down the road and watched my friend's children doing swimming lessons - those first hesitant strokes are hard to make - kinda like anything in life eh? You have to trust that someone will be there to watch you, catch you and help you along the way. Thankfully, as Christians we have our God to care for and guide us as we make our way through life's turbulent waves and calm periods. These last few weeks have definitely been a whirlwind it seems. Lots to do and so little time in which to do it. Lots of committee work, work at the hospital and looking for houses (nothing yet, for those of you who are interested - i went again last evening with no success - but my real estate agent is infinitely patient and keeps telling me that buying a house is like buying shoes - you have to wait for the right pair to come along and sometimes that takes a little while - one that fits your lifestyle, budget, and tastes. And since i don't tend to go shoe shopping very often, i guess i'm out of practise. But something will come along sometime so i'm not allowed to stress - i don't think i am stressing but just maybe a little eager to find something so i'm not throwing away money on rent. So i've nearly made up my mind as to what to do - a trip to the library to find a book for my non-existent reading time, a trip to the Dump Store to find some treasures and packing for Campfire. So i will leave you all now with a fond farewell and a wish that you all have a great day!

There's an earwig on my bed, on my bed

(sung to the tune of There's a Spider on my Leg, by Raffi)
There's an earwig on my bed, on my bed
There's an earwig on my bed, on my bed
There's an earwig on my bed, oh i wish that he was dead
There's an earwig on my bed, on my bed.
There's an earwig on my wall, on my wall
There's an earwig on my wall, on my wall,
There's an earwig on my wall, how i wish that he would fall
There's an earwig on my wall, on my wall.
There's an earwig in my tub, in my tub
There's an earwig in my tub, in my tub
There's an earwig in my tub, you're going to die, little bub
There's an earwig in my tub, in my tub.
There's an earwig on my floor, on my floor,
There's an earwig on my floor, on my floor
There's an earwig on my floor, where he comes from, they'll be more
There's an earwig on my floor, on my floor.
There's an earwig on my desk, on my desk
There's an earwig on my desk, on my desk
There's an earwig on my desk, the world's ugliest pest
There's an earwig on my desk, on my desk.
Since my dear friend moved out and here i remain
Earwigs have come to give me some pain
Oh they don't suck your brains or bite in your ears
But their dark little bodies give me some fears.
They crawl round the house and creep me all out
So RAID gets sprayed all over and about.
I'm pro'lly going to die of an overdose of spray
The earwigs will all give a huge "hurray!"
"We've done it my boys, we done it at last,
The human is gone, from our lives it has passed.
We've managed to creep her out to the max
Earwigs are cool, that's the straight facts!"
So before i get carried out of the front door
By a phalanx of earwigs shouting "human no more!"
I'll put up a fuss and spray till they know
That i live here and they've got to go!!!
p.s. if there's ever on here that looks this huge,
the next time you see me, i'll be in Peru!!

All by myself....

All by myself... there's no one else here

No one else nice to share a cold beer

No one to talk to all bout my day

No one to accompany into the fray

My dear friend has flown the Gloverland coop

She's moved off to Brantford, so here's the new scoop

I live all alone now, no one else here

Just me and two fish who don't speak much, i fear.

We chat in the dawning to greet the new morn

But bubbles and scales can quickly get borin'

Sydney has left for pastures greener

And my answering machine only says Yell, not Carina.

(well, it will once i fix it!)

So if you are bored and lacking for fun

Just come on over and i'll be the one

To give you a drink in a nice tall new glass

And seat you at a table with class.

give me a call and i'll put on the tea

And you can have a visit with little old me!
