Hi all... it's been eons since i last posted anything on this virtual space... with the simple reason that not too much really super exciting has been happening in my life... just the ordinary run-of-the-mill stuff which doesn't make for good copy on the blog. But here i am, at 4:55 am... sitting haphazardly on the edge of my chair to keep myself awake, having survived a crazy beginning of the shift which involved me running around like a chicken with her head choppped off... and several off-key renditions of popular romantic and children's songs sung to relieve stress. I do like my work... i like my patients, i like the families (most of the time!) but i don't enjoy the politics of things... i realize more and more, that whatever job you have that involves working with people, will necessarily have politics stemming out of it... but i wish it wasn't such a problem. I realize that nursing is not unique in this aspect of things, but seemingly, cooping 6 or 7 women (usually, we don't have any guys working on our floor - maybe they're scared of us!!) up on an outdated hospital ward causes some interesting results when their personalities clash and merge like tectonic plates in an earthquake prone zone... perhaps we oughta post "seismic eruption potentials" on the ward each morning so you would know if you have to wear your hard hat and miner light when you started your shift!!
boy, oh, boy, these posts in the early morning do devolve into such inane scribblings... i long deeply for something wonderfully eloquent to say but alas, the words escape my scrabbling tongue and brain and wander off to lodge somewhere in neverland, far from my grasp. Ach, well, enough craziness for now... someday, my faithful readers, there will come a post with such depth, such insight that you will be blown away, but for now, you must dwell a little longer in the land of literary mediocrity.
