Okay... came home from toiling away at the hospital for the third long day in a row, looking forward to a weekend of freedom and clean fresh air and sunshine, trading in canned air and hot stuffy corridors filled with equipment that malfunctions and some personalities that just don't mix. Turning the key in the lock of my humble abode and stepping over the threshold, i kicked off my shoes, stumbled over the newspaper i foolishly left on the floor in my way the previous evening and popped my lasagna bakkie into the microwave to satisfy my hunger, never suspecting that there lurked something in my basement that i did not want to find there...
What was this monster, this creature of mystery, which caused such mental upheaval in my poorly ordered existence? C'mon over and find out tomorrow morning when we open the stovepipe up to release the critter within...

It was a starling, not a squirrel as my deepest fears had imagined... he was scared out of his mind - but eventually he ventured out and made a daring run for the outside air after a few runins with my windows... another adventure successfully concluded in the life of the Meadows - highlights include girlie screams, fire extinguishers, spray paint and lotsa mess...
