As i sat driving...

As i was driving back from my hairdresser's place...i came across this canola field - shining away on a kinda gloomy day and looking oh so pretty.. thankfully there was no one right behind me as i screeched to a stop on the side of the road to take some pictures...lovely to see such a splash of colour!
And there was a tree...of course...had to take a pic of the tree...
And then some of it followed me home... looks real purty on a vase, but doesn't exactly tickle the olfactory nerves in a satisfying way to be sure...
Martha Stewart, move over... Danielle's coming through... well, maybe not exactly - my rhubarb was very enthusiastically growing away in the garden (trying to keep ahead of the fifty billion rose of sharon seedlings that are populating the garden at present!) and i thought i'd better do something with it... So rhubarb crisp and rhubarb sauce it was...yum yum!  It sure was tasty!
And this is what happens when the rhubarb grows too big!  Pretty flowers - i thought they were pretty neat so they're now occupying the coffee table...

I love driving by canola fields too :) Especially when there's a dark sky, the contrast is so dramatic! It's one of my high-lites of driving to campfire...several large canola fields on the way :)

william faulkner much? :)
also i was amazed to see canola fields already heading out since farmers out here are still waiting to plant. but maybe it was some kind of winter crop? i guess i'm still mostly city-slicker!
